Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances

DocuTrac is proud to announce the availability of EPCS Gold 2.0, which allows our
QuicDoc customers to safely prescribe legend and schedule II-V drugs electronically through the same workflow, further streamlining the prescription writing process.

EPCS Gold 2.0 builds on the current e-prescribing functionality within
our QuicDoc EMR Professional and Enterprise Edition Software,
through our partnership with DrFirst.

While many physicians nationwide have already adopted e-prescribing, the majority of them are still forced to revert back to paper prescriptions when it comes to controlled substances.

EPCS Gold 2.0 will allow our customers to:

  • Eliminate manual signing, calling, or faxing controlled drug prescriptions
  • Apply interaction checks to reduce potential adverse drug events
  • Control potential tampering, fraud, or illegal trafficking of controlled substances

Currently, over 16,000 pharmacies in 42 states are legally able to accept e-prescriptions for controlled substances, and these numbers continue to grow each month.DrFirst

QuicTip in Office Therapy

Office Therapy's unique system of lists including Clients, Providers, Insurance Companies, and others such as tasks, appointments, and pick lists allows for a more efficient and flexible method of organizing information.

You can customize these lists to display specific information that you need to have at your fingertips by adding or removing the columns that are displayed; by reordering and changing the sort order of columns; and by filtering certain lists that have filtering options.

Users with Master Access can create custom list formats and make them public so that they are available for all users. The option to make a list public can be set when a custom list is saved. Lists created by users without Master Access are private and for use by the individual user only.

For information on customizing lists see Custom Lists in the Help file located in the Contents under Office Therapy Lists, or simply do a search in the Help file on the word ‘lists.’

Microsoft Support Ends for Windows XP

Microsoft has announced that it will no longer support Windows XP effective April 8, 2014.

*In 2002 Microsoft introduced its Support Lifecycle policy based on customer feedback to have more transparency and predictability of support for Microsoft products. As per this policy, Microsoft Business and Developer products, including Windows and Office products, receive a minimum of 10 years of support (5 years Mainstream Support and 5 years Extended Support), at the supported service pack level.

Thus, Windows XP SP3 and Office 2003 will go out of support on April 8, 2014. If your organization has not started the migration to a modern desktop, you are late. Based on historical customer deployment data, the average enterprise deployment can take 18 to 32 months from business case through full deployment. To ensure you remain on supported versions of Windows and Office, you should begin your planning and application testing immediately to ensure you deploy before end of support.

DocuTrac will no longer be testing updates and new versions of our software products on these retired operating systems.
