CMS has Proposed a Rule to Allow Providers to use 2011 Certified EHRs

CMSOn May 20th, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) which would allow participating providers of the EHR Incentive Program to use 2011 Editions of Certified Electronic Health Record Technology (CEHRT) for 2014.

This proposed rule grants flexibility to providers who are experiencing difficulties fully implementing 2014 Edition CEHRT to attest this year. If passed, Providers would be able to use EHRs certified under the 2011 Edition, a combination of the 2011 and 2014 Editions, or the 2014 Edition.

NPRM Rule also proposes to extend Stage 2 of the EHR Incentive Programs through 2016.

Please visit the CMS website for more information or read the press release about the NPRM.

EMR and PM Software Support GroupWhether you leave a voice message or an email message, your message goes into a queue in the Support Mailbox. Be sure to leave the name of the agency or person to whom the software is registered, a call back number, and a brief description of the issue. Each message is automatically date and time stamped.

Our entire Technical Support staff continually monitors this mailbox in an effort to provide timely service. We prioritize items by first looking for urgent requests. Then after responding to the urgent requests, we work on issues in chronological order from the oldest to the most recent items in the queue.

We realize that your time is valuable and that you may have limited windows of opportunity to talk. It is often helpful to leave a good time to call back in your message. It’s not always possible to call during a specific time, but we will do our best to accommodate your request.
