May is "Mental Health Awareness Month." It was started by the support organization, Mental Health America in 1949. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, mental health concerns affect one in ten Americans, but fewer than twenty-five percent with a diagnosable mental disorder will seek treatment. Those of us that promote Mental Health Awareness Month hope to help increase the number of people who will talk to their doctor or a mental health professional about their concerns.

May is also known as the month to honor Mothers. Mother's Day was founded in 1908 when Anna M. Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. The Holiday celebrating the influence of Mothers in society has since grown to become observed around the world.

Memorial Day, observed annually on the last Monday of May, is a day of remembrance for those who have died serving our country. The Memorial Day weekend also marks the beginning of the busy summer season with parades and picnics.

How ever we spend our time this month, we understand how precious relationships are and how much they enhance our daily lives. Updates keep your PC safer and running smoothly. They contain important security updates, as well as system updates and many other updates for Microsoft programs that you've installed, such as Microsoft Office, Exchange Server, and SQL Server. Automatic updates are an easy way to keep your operating system up-to-date.

“When you turn on automatic updating, most updates will download and install without you having to lift a finger. But sometimes Windows Update will need your input during an installation. In this case, you'll see an alert in the notification area at the far right of the taskbar—be sure to click it. If you don't respond to a Windows Update alert, your PC might end up missing an important download. We recommend that you use automatic updating—but if you choose not to, be sure to check for updates at least once a week.” – From Microsoft Windows Update

In general, technical support services are intended to help identify and resolve specific problems with software rather than provide training. Training is learning how to use software, and technical support is problem-specific assistance.

Training is not included as part of Annual Maintenance. However, web based training for the Professional Editions of QuicDoc and Office Therapy is available for an hourly fee.

Want to know who deleted a charge or an appointment in Office Therapy? Use the Audit Log to find out.

With the Audit Log security feature, you can track and audit activity. All additions, changes, and deletions, as well as viewing of information can be tracked. When enabled, the audit log tracks the activity, date/time, user, Windows user and computer name. The log tracks changes to Client Information and related activity; transactions, such as charges, payments, etc., as well as billing, filing insurance, etc. and scheduling.

You can create Document Templates in QuicDoc with data fields that link to the database, as well as signature fields for use with the Topaz Tablets. To do this requires the Administrative logon.

Document Templates allow you to create, for example, consent forms with merged fields that use the Topaz Signature pad. Clients can sign it and then it can be saved as part of the chart.

To create templates, select Create Document Template from the QuicDoc Write menu. This opens the QuicDoc word processor. Press F1 for instructions on how to set up templates with merge fields. To add a signature block, select Signature Block from the word processor Insert menu.

There is no denying it, 5010 is here!

Any of our Office Therapy customers who are e-filing and have upgraded to the Professional Edition should now be filing 5010 claims through the Claims Manager section of Version 10.

As 5010 becomes the norm, 4010 claim rejection issues are becoming much more difficult to diagnose. DocuTrac Support advises Office Therapy customers, who are e-filing and have not yet upgraded to the Professional Edition, to do so in order to continue e-filing with 5010.
