We have had such an exciting spring here at DocuTrac! We've unveiled QuicDoc Office in the Cloud, we've launched a new series of webinars, and we are getting ready to release a brand new website, all in an effort to help you, our customer, not only work more efficiently but to educate and partner with you as we move forward in this ever-changing industry of behavioral health.

Speaking of behavioral health, May is Mental Health Awareness month in the United States. This month is designated as such in an effort to raise awareness about mental illness, including: depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.

Sunday May 12th is the day we honor our mothers, wives, sisters, aunts, and grandmothers, as well as all women who influence our lives and society in a positive way by their kind and caring acts. DocuTrac recognizes and honors all our dedicated women employees who are part of the DocuTrac team and all our loyal women customers to whom we are grateful. Make sure you wish all moms a HAPPY DAY!

Memorial Day is the last Monday of May and was first formally celebrated on May 30, 1868. We will be closed on Monday, May 27th so that our employees may spend the day with their families and friends. We hope you have a safe and happy Memorial Day!

If you are still using Windows XP, you may want to start the mourning process.

Support for Windows XP will officially end in April 2014. This means no more support, service packs, or security patches. Although you will certainly be able to continue to use your Windows XP machine despite the absence of support or updates, there is a greater cause for concern and reason to "let go."

If you use your XP machine for business, and in particular, save patient information or Protected Health Information (PHI), you need to be aware of the risks associated with "holding on." Without updates and security patches, your system is vulnerable to hackers, malware, and other issues which could lead to data loss, compromise your patient data, and make you vulnerable to HIPAA violations.

If you decide to delay, make sure you continue to follow these best practices:

• Apply Windows updates until they are discontinued
• Keep your virus and malware protection software up to date
• Watch where you go on the internet
• Don't open email or email attachments from unknown sources
• Backup, backup, backup
