Latest news regarding E-Prescribing in New York State:

“In the very short amount of time since the New York State Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement (BNE) finalized its guidelines for providers and pharmacies to implement the Internet System for Tracking Over-Prescribing (I-STOP) there has been a widespread movement from the New York healthcare community to begin using the new technology. As of this writing, there are currently 1,346 pharmacies across the state that accept electronic transmissions of controlled substance prescriptions. Rite Aid was the first of the large pharmacy chains to become enabled in New York, followed quickly by Duane Reade and Walgreens. As of the publication time for this blog, CVS also has plans in motion that will bring its pharmacies across New York into the network of controlled substance e-prescription-enabled pharmacies within the next six months.” Click here to read the full article.

Office Therapy® 11.5.0 is 02/12 CMS-1500 Claim Form Ready!

We are very happy to announce the release of Office Therapy® Practice Management Software Version 11.5.0 which is ready for 02/12 CMS-1500 claim forms. The ability to print to the revised CMS-1500 claim form is only available in the Claims Manager 5010 module of Office Therapy Professional Edition Version 11.5.0. All claims, paper and electronic, must be filed through Claims Manager 5010. However, contact your payers directly to verify which form to use – some payers may not be ready.

IMPORTANT: Before Proceeding with the Office Therapy Billing Software Upgrade:

  • Make sure to back up your database before updating your Office Therapy Software. The update should not cause any problems, but it is always a good idea to make a backup prior to any system change (click here for detailed instructions or here to view a video).
  • When installing the update, please be patient – the installation process is updating your system with over 90,000 of the new ICD-10 Codes.

We are very happy to announce the release of QuicDoc® Professional Version 9.5.5.

This latest update to our electronic medical records software includes changes to the ICD code set and is available to all users who are current on maintenance.

Office Therapy Users: New Timeline for HCFA 1500 Form 02/12

On January 6, 2014, providers were able to begin submitting the revised HCFA 1500 02/12 form to their payers.  Per the NUCC transition timeline, dual use of both forms is allowed until March 31, 2014. As of April 1, 2014 only the revised HCFA 1500 02/12 form is to be used when submitting to your payers for processing.

We highly recommend ordering the revised HCFA 1500 02/12 forms so you are prepared when the update is implemented.

Office Therapy will have the revised HCFA 1500 02/12 format ready for the NUCC proposed April 1, 2014 deadline. This format will only be available in Claims Manager 5010 in the newest version of Office Therapy Professional Edition.  All claims, paper and electronic, must be filed through Claims Manager 5010.
